Growing up, my sister and I used to get 4 packs of Rave Mega-Hold hairspray from Price Club and we’d use it all. I really can’t explain how we managed to use up all of that hairspray on ponytail-braid hairdos, but I’m pretty sure the mega-hold was overkill.

Anyway, I’ve since ditched the ponytail-braid and put my Rave days behind me, having moved on to the grown-up world of hot rollers and curling irons–styles that actual do require some serious hold. For this, my hairspray of choice is White Sands Infinity Finish Spray. It provides fantastic hold without the super stiff crunchiness, and manages to hold my long hair curled, volumized, and smelling incredible.

While it’s not so light that you can easily brush through it, it does stay flexible and is perfect for those times when you’re really giving yourself a real hairdo.
