There’s just something about the word creme. It’s like no matter the scenario, be it a product for the body, face, hair or for consumption, I gravitate towards it. Revlon’s Creme Glosses were no exception…
…but unlike all the other cremes in my life, I don’t love it. To Revlon’s credit, these twist-up, brush-on glosses are loaded with shine and pigment, just like they say. More like a liquid lipstick than a gloss, they go on with full-coverage and a vinyl-like shine. The formula is very thick and sticky, but the payoff is lasting color and shine.
However, for me, they’re a tad too thick. The formula feels a little goopy on my lips and the colors I bought–Slip into Pink and Play Up Pink–aren’t that great. The former shade is a super-light nude that turned out to have glitter in it, which feels rough and sharp. The latter shade is uber bright, and while I like bright sometimes, it’s just too much with the goopiness and shine. Had I picked better colors, I could see this gloss working out better.
The biggest plus is probably the packaging, which is pretty sleek and chic, and is a dead ringer for Chanel’s Creme Gloss Luminere.
