Readers, I am so obsessed with Sally Hansen Salon Nail Lacquer in Pat on the Black right now. But, let’s be clear–despite the name, this is not black nail polish. It’s an inky grape with a creme finish.
For the longest time I’d be eschewing the super dark nail trend, thinking it wasn’t for me, but then suddenly the mood struck, and it was all I could think about. I jaunted over to CVS and scanned the nail polish aisle, my eyes settling on Sally’s Pat on the Black.
Now, the “Salon” series from Sally is her higher priced polish, and I’m not gonna lie, for $6 bucks I was thinking, “Gee, I’d rather have an Essie nail polish.” But once I had this baby in my hot little hands, I wanted instant gratification and was unwilling to hike across town to a known Essie retailer.
Well, Sally did not let me down. In two coats, the color was opaque and even. The consistency of the polish was perfect–not too runny, not too thick. It dried relatively quickly, leaving me with deep, dark and dangerous purple nails.

That’s it..I need this!! I look at this EVERY time I go to CVS..gonna buy it today. Myabe it will replace the Goodie 2 Shoes I own by OPI-what a disappointment..
Haha I “stalk” certain products as well. Too bad about the OPI; I hope you have good luck with this!

I adore the darker colors and I’m trying to add to my polish collection. I was out for top coat the other day and had about 10 different bottles in my hand walking around the drugstore like a crazy polish hoarder. I hope you don’t have this experience. Love your blog, happy shopping!
Thanks Emily!:) I like Orly Won’t Chip top coat.

That is a great color!
Ooohh, I might have to get this one. I’m all about the dark nails right now. I can spend forever looking at the nail polishes at the store.
