nope, haven’t tried it. my friend who works at sephora (and hooks me up) suggests mineral makeup with less mica to help control oil. urban decay is one. bare minerals is apparently higher on the mica list…what gives you the “glow” also can give you unwanted shine, apparently. i do like urban decay’s mineral powder a lot….

I have this on-again off-again relationship with Bare Minerals because I don’t think it does anything to control oil. My skin does tend to get oiler at times, and the BM doesn’t seem to hold up that well.

I keep going back to it because I love how it looks, it’s so pure and it goes on in 2 seconds (I’ve been hitting the snooze button a lot lately, so this is crucial!)

That is a great question! Since light colors bring things forward (and dark colors recess), any light powder can serve as a highlighter.

Because you have a natural predisposition to looking shiny (me too, girl!)try using a pressed powder that is several shades lighter than your skin tone. The light color will still accent your features, sans any additional shine. Plus, the pressed powder will actually help keep oil in check. Be sure to apply it with a denser brush (don’t use your regular powder brush–then it isn’t as likely to be as concentrated and show up as well).

You may want to consider using a pressed powder that is a little more pigmented, like MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural.

I love how highlighter looks face-to-face, but I’m not a huge fan of the way it can sometimes just look like “shine” in pictures. As someone who needs a matte fooundation in the first place (to counter a natural predisposition to shine), can you reccomend a very low intensity highligter, give me an idea as to avoid making it look greasy in pics? (I don’t put it everywhere and I’m not using too much, I promise!)
